Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how AlgoX LLC (AlgoX 合同会社) ("we," "us") handles your information in connection with the subscription management app "Subscun" (the iOS/Android apps and the related website, collectively the "Service"). It applies equally to the app and the website.

1. Our approach (summary)

• Subscun is a tool for you to manage your own subscription spending.
• We never connect to your bank or card accounts.
• We do not track you for advertising. We do not collect advertising identifiers (such as IDFA), we do not sell your personal information, and we never share it with data brokers.
• Statement images and files you upload for AI import are never stored on our servers — they are discarded immediately after extraction.
• We collect only what is necessary to provide the Service.

2. Information we collect and why

Renewal alerts are delivered as local notifications generated on your device; their contents are not sent to our servers.

If we ever need to use your information for a purpose not listed here, we will inform you first and, where required, ask for your consent.

3. Information we do NOT collect

• Bank or card account credentials (there is no account-linking feature)
• Credit card numbers or bank account numbers (AI import targets only subscription-candidate line items; card and account numbers are not targeted for extraction and are not stored)
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA/AAID), location data, contacts, or full photo-library access (images are selected one by one through the OS photo picker)

4. How AI import handles your files (important)

AI import extracts subscription candidates from statement images, CSV, or PDF files that you select.

1. It runs only when you explicitly start it. There is no background collection.
2. To perform the extraction, files may be sent to an external information-processing service used by us (located in the United States). We ask for your consent before the first such transmission.
3. We use contractual and technical measures designed to prevent submitted information from being used for purposes unrelated to this feature. Submitted information is not used to train or improve AI models.
4. We do not retain the original files, and they are discarded after extraction. We retain only information identified as possible subscription records in the extraction results.
5. Extraction results are suggestions only. Nothing is registered as a subscription unless you review and confirm it.

4a. User-uploaded icon images (served publicly)

You may optionally upload an image to use as the icon for a subscription.

1. Uploads happen only when you explicitly choose an image, and only a lightweight version resized and converted on your device is transmitted.
2. Icon images are stored using an external storage service and delivered through a display URL. We do not intentionally publish this URL, but a person who knows it may be able to view the image. Do not upload images you would not want others to see or images containing personal or sensitive information.
3. Do not upload images that infringe third-party rights (copyright, trademark, publicity, etc.) or that violate the law or public order. We may remove such images without notice (see our Terms of Service).
4. All uploaded icon images are deleted when you delete your account (Section 8).

5. Sharing and processors

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising purposes (including as "sell" and "share" are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act). We do not disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent, except as required by law.

To operate the Service, we may engage external service providers for functions such as authentication, data storage, communications, file analysis, usage analytics, and reliability monitoring. We take appropriate steps in selecting, contracting with, and supervising these providers.

6. International data processing and security

We use reasonable safeguards such as access controls, protection of communications, limits on who may handle data, and log management.

Our use of external service providers may involve storing or processing information outside Japan (primarily in the United States). In that case, we take measures required by applicable law, including appropriate provider review, contractual protections, and supervision. You may contact us under Section 11 for further information about international processing.

7. Analytics and monitoring tools

To improve quality and respond to errors, we may send usage, device and browser, and error information to external analytics or monitoring services. We do not use this information for advertising or to track users across unrelated services.

The website may use cookies or similar technologies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, although doing so may affect some features.

8. Retention and deletion

• Account and subscription data: retained for as long as your account exists.
• Account deletion: You can delete your account at any time from the app's settings. After deletion, account details, subscriptions, import history, and related information are removed within a reasonable period under our operational and backup cycles.
• Audit logs and usage events: retained for as long as reasonably necessary for security and troubleshooting, then deleted or anonymized.
• Information retained to prevent abuse: After account deletion, we retain your sign-in identifier (the authentication provider's user ID) and your AI import usage count, solely to prevent repeated deletion and re-registration from resetting free-tier limits. This is kept separate from your name, display name, icons, and subscription data, and is used only to carry over usage counts if you sign in again with the same account.
• AI import originals: not retained (discarded immediately; see Section 4).
• Uploaded icon images: deleted from storage when you delete your account.
• Where the law requires us to keep certain records, we retain them for the legally required period.

9. Your rights

You may at any time request:

• access to your personal data (including in electronic form),
• correction, addition, or deletion,
• suspension of use or erasure, and suspension of third-party provision,
• withdrawal of consent (we will stop the relevant processing going forward; for AI import, simply not using the feature stops all transmission).

Requests are handled through the contact in Section 11, after identity verification and within the timeframes required by applicable law. Responses provided electronically (in-app or by email) are free of charge. If you request a response by post, we may ask you to bear a reasonable fee based on actual costs (such as postage), to the extent permitted by applicable law. You can also view, edit, and delete your data — and delete your account — directly in the app.

If laws outside Japan apply to you, you may have additional rights under those laws.

10. Age restriction

The Service is not intended for anyone under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 16, we will delete it promptly.

12. Changes to this Policy

We will post any changes on this page and, for material changes, notify you through the app or other appropriate means. The updated Policy takes effect when posted here (or on the effective date stated in the notice).
